So Terry Pratchett has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's. The fact that he's a smart guy with a remarkable memory (by all accounts he frequently remembers people's names at signings, which is pretty damn impressive with his fanbase) just seems to make it so much worse. Very sad

Its.... wierd to think about it. I've have no idea how it affects people (which im very grateful for), but its cool to hear that he's looking at it so positively. I guess if its caught now and they can slow it down, maybe he'll be good for a while. and who knows, enough money is being spent on it, so maybe they'll come up with something better. I like thats he's telling people to interpret his optimism as 'I am not dead' (although all i can hear is I aintent dead'!), and that he will of course be ead at some future point, as will everybody else. seems, dunno, cool somehow
