Stockings and Webcomics

So Tim asked me to write about wearing stockings, which is very inconvenient as I was intending to use the meme to kill time at work, and that would look a little weird...

So I don't really have much to say, I do occasionally feel quite self conscious wearing them with short skirts. I'm naturally very pear-shaped, and could stand to lose a fair bit of weight, particularly on my stomach and thighs, so I'm kind of vaguely aware that I probably shouldn't be drawing attention to that area, but at the end of the day, I don't care enough to diet, or to prevent me wearing clothes that I think are cool. Life is way too short to stress about these things, especially when you're talking about a choice between cake and not-cake.

So yes, anyway, most of the time that isn't an issue; I like stockings, even fishnets are surprisingly warm, so I can wear a greater variety of clothes in winter without my legs falling off. I could wear tights instead, but I find them really restrictive and uncomfortable, plus I mostly associate them with school uniform. I feel good wearing them and most people I've gone out with seem to have approved of them so who am I to argue.
Suspenders are better than hold-ups, hold-ups can roll up or fall down, and sometimes the sticky stuff is just vaguely uncomfortable. Sadly suspenders are such a pain to get on in the first place that I've only worn them maybe half a dozen times.
That's all I have to say, sadly I don't have any pictures (I'm good at avoiding cameras, I think maybe Tam had one in a fotopic collection or something 3 or 4 years ago, but I assume that's long gone. I'd find an alternative, but that aint a google image search I'm particularly inclined to seeing, so this will have to do instead.

Anyone else have a topic for me to post? It doesn't have to be work-safe, though if it isn't it will probably take me a week to reply if I don't manage it in the next few days ;).

Also, I realised this morning that anyone who doesn't read Warren Ellis' blog (it's probably for the best), probably won't have seen FreakAngels, and you really should. It's a gorgeous weekly webcomic written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Paul Duffield. It's set in a steampunk-style, flooded London, and it has a be-stockinged main character so it's totally relevant :P.
