50.  The Lady and the Unicorn -- by Tracy Chevalier

I DID IT!!!! Woohoo!!  (I have the Dora the Explorer "We Did It" song running through my head.....)

And this was a pretty interesting book to go out on. I really liked the narrative structure, although (aside from different viewpoints) there wasn't a lot of difference between the voices.  Good story ( Read more... )

49.  Treasure Island -- by Robert Louis Stevenson

49-Wow! I just might make it!

One of the classics I saw on my shelf and realized I had never actually read before. So, I gave it go. I didn' t really grasp all of the nautical/pirate terms in the story, but it was still a good read.

48.  I Capture the Castle -- by Dodie Smith

I LOVED this book! I had seen the movie a few years ago, and bought the book recently at a book sale because I remembered it being sweet and cute. The book had a lot more substance than that, though. The narrator, Cassandra, is very engaging and she really pulls you into her family.

Wow, 47! I just might make it.......

This was book was just great; something every Cubs fan must read.

46.  Eleanor of Aquitaine -- by Alison Weir

It seems like it took me forever to finish (especially considering there's really only 350 pages of actual text), but it was worth it. Very very interesting!

45. Ficciones -- by Jorge Luis Borges

I read and write simple phrases and paragraphs all day, every day. Every now and then I need to read something "smart" just as a reminder of my English degree. I actually remember reading a few from this one in a short story class.

44.  My Antonia -- by Willa Cather

Through high school and 7 years majoring in literature in college, I never once read this book. I don't think I ever even had it assigned in class. This was one I found at the yearly library sale.

43.  The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse -- by Robert Rankin

It was the title that got me; with something that absurd, I had to read it. And it was quite good. If you like Jasper Fforde, you'd probably like this one.

42.  I am Madame X -- by Gioia Diliberto

Another find from the clearance rack at Barnes & Noble, and it really wasn't too bad.
