I love these strange hours in the middle of the night. They're my favorite time of day. I love them especially in the summer, when you can lie in the middle of normally busy main streets, staring up at the traffic light without getting run over. But I find they're just as charming in winter, though lonely, I still feel warm as the snow falls.

After getting my 5am snowday phone call, I sit up and watch crazy informercials. Usually they're the standard fitness-tapes-weight-loss-acne-cream-juicer-exercise-machine-rotisserie-chicken-self-improvement-temperpedic-mattress status quo kinda deal, but every once in awhile you catch a good one. Like this morning, there was one for the "Better Sex" video series, where renowned sex professors from actual colleges doled out advice while real, live, skeevy-lookin', middle-aged couples demonstrated. Made my morning. ;)
