I liked this movie a lot lot more than I thought I would. Eric's body is very nice but actually I was also very taken with his acting, very moving as you say. It also managed to to RUIN the book, as soooo many film versions of books do (hello, Slumdog what a pile of poooooo compared to the orig book Q & A - IMHO...)

Haven't read the book (thankfully, I guess). I haven't had time to read very much in over a year. It's hard enough squeezing in a movie. :P But yes, definitely a very moving performance. Haven't seen Slumdog, though.

I'd go see it with you if I was close enough. :)

It's definitely one to watch. Hope you get to see it soon. Bring your Kleenex. ;)

pink shirt and daisy dukes?

....ok, I'll see it. hahaha I might wait for video, cause it doesn't seem like something you HAVE to see on the big screen, but it did look good. Glad you liked it!

Omg Mystic River was so good but left me feeling icky too. Tim Robbins creeped me the FUCK out near the end with his "wolf" scene. holy CRAP.

LOL! Yes, it was definitely bizarre to see him wearing that. My eyes kind of bugged a little and my first thought was "WTF?! Who's that big guy in the frilly shirt, beating the shit out of someone?" and then the camera got close enough that you could tell it was Eric and I DIED, I tell you. :D

Gah! So worth it. See it.

Ordinarily I do too. I'm an action movie or comedy or thriller/mystery type person. Unfortunately Carolina likes art movies and chick flicks, so we have very opposite tastes, and this was our compromise - OK with her because it was a love story, and me because it was Eric. It wasn't the sort of movie that made me sob my eyes out, but I did tear up a couple of times at the thought of what it must be like to put myself in the wife's place.

I think you'll enjoy it. It was a good story and just well done all around.

You get to see him naked like 9 zillion times. :)

Or at least a dozen. ;P
