My birthday is Saturday. I'm not really looking forward to it. I'm really sorry, Chris, that you have to go through that. I've never made a big deal about my birthday, so I'm not sure I quite know how it is, but... that sounds pretty bad. :x

I wish I could get you something; instead I'll just wish you a happy birthday then and hope I can find you something awesome for Christmas.

It's not so much that I make a big deal out of my birthday, because really I don't. If I do something it's usually pretty low key. A couple friends getting coming over to hang out and make a cake (or watch a movie, or just go out to dinner or something) with me is a pretty typical (or was) birthday for me and I told my mom a long time ago no to bother with birthday cakes and stuff when we celebrated my birthday and just to celebrate it with the family on Thanksgiving and just stick some candles in a pumpkin pie and be done with it
