Well... Atlanta was kickass!!! I'm very glad I went. :) Our team didn't do so well ranking-wise, but it was a very memorable time. I still need to trade pictures with other people...

Thursday: Left at 3 o'clock from Troy High. I was in the Mrs. Woock's car with Zach, Mike A, Justin, and Smita. The guys were being very silly, especially Mike and Justin (like that's a big surprise... *eyeroll*). Smita lost her Pop Tart virginity, though! I have photographic evidence! We also bothered Ross when he was on speakerphone. We had lots of fun trying to convince him to come with us. I suggested he could be there with us in spirit. Mike replied, "Good idea! Ross, go kill yourself!" Aww. What a supportive friend. lol.

Went on the plane, which was about a two hour flight. There was XM radio on the plane. Didn't to listen to it, though. I studied for APs instead. I'm such a studious goodie goodie. But anyways... we arrived there at about 8pm, and took the Marta to the hotel. We met up with the pit people who arrived in Atlanta the previous day, and we just chillaxed the rest of the time. Smita and I were silly and spun around in various places in the hotel lobby. Then we went up to the top level, and Smita and I saw two guys in light orange shirts from another team, so we decided to say hi to them. (We had this thing to greet as many strangers as possible while on the trip. Fun stuff.) We waved from a distance and made a loud salutation in their general direction. They looked at eachother and then at us, then waved back. Later that night we saw them two other times up close. We felt silly, but it was all for the sake of fun.

Friday: The first full day of A LOT OF DAMN WALKING. I woke up and went with the early riser people, because I'm silly. (Nah. The real reason was all my roomies, Rachel, Michele, and Smita, all were supposed to leave early so I was like, "Eh, might as well, too." I snuck my breakfast in by hiding it in the sharky suit. That was fun. Some other people (I think it was Michele and Mrs. Zimnie and maybe some others) and I set up where we were going to sit. We saved a section of seats, and eventually our events started. Now this is where things start to get kind of blurry. I remember finishing the breakfast I started at 7am four hours later. Then having a subway sandwich I wasn't even really hungry for. But the cookies compelled me to ingest more food. Damn you, cookies!

I got a bunch of buttons from different teams and fun accessories, including caution tape. (Yay for button shopping! I wish I got to do more of it, though. :( ) This is where things get ...interesting. I tied the caution tape as a sash, and then Mrs. Woock was like, "Oh my goodness, it's Miss Caution 226!" There were some different variations of the name, but that's the title I decided to stick with. Later on, when I got a hold of a Sharpie, I gave Mrs. Zimnie the honor of writing "Miss" and "226" between the word "Caution," thus making "Miss Caution 226"! I'm so creative! Ha. Hahhaha. Ha.

But yeah... then it gets weird when this kid copies my sash idea for the strip of caution tape. Then jokes begin to start about there being a "Mr. Caution 226." This kid... Chris... poor kid tries so hard to fit in... too hard. I feel sorry for him, I honestly do. I know what it's like to feel left out. He one of the harder workers on the team, too. But... he gives me the heebie jeebies. Many would agree with me. For some reason, he always managed to get on my nerves. When I was filming the opening ceremony, he kept cleaning his freaking glasses for like ten minutes, and it was blocking my view like, the whole time. Then I leave my seat temporarily, and when I come back, he's in my seat, acting like it's his. Then... that long balloon... not going to even go into that. But people who were there would know what I was talking about.

Anyways, Smita, Stephen, Brad, and I were walking to the pits together and there were plenty of jokes involving Chris and me being told.

"So where are you going on your honeymoon?"
"Imagine the kids!"

All of these and such were responded with, "Ew. Ew ew ew."

Mrs. Z, Smita, Mrs. Ure, and I went to this conference about making a memorable Chairman's Award. Honestly, I knew most of the stuff already because Alanna told me about it before. But that's okay, I was still a good little girl and I took copious notes. :D

For dinner we went to this place called the Varsity. Yay for cheap and greasy food! For that much food, it would probably be at least 10 dollars more in Troy. We then went back to the hotel and we tried to go to swimming, but the pool was closed. :( We played on the elevator for 15 minutes to a half hour... while Chris was on there for like, two hours. *sigh* I studied for my English Language AP instead, with Smita, Mike B, and Stephen who needed to study for the American History AP. We're truly nerds. Hee. Oh yeah, and a bunch of kids and adults went to Hard Rock Cafe. I bought a really cool shirt. :)

Saturday: Woke up early again. Had to take my breakfast to the Georgia Dome again. Helped find seats with Mrs. Z and Michele. The usual. Kind of scouted but not really. Kind of was involved in a conversation with Allison, Mrs. Z, and Jason Joye. Jason threw Allison's frisbee in my face and made me bleed! Eh, it was a minor incident. :p

Went to go see the matches in the Newton division. I confided in Smita about crap that was bugging me while I ate some Dippin' Dots ice cream. Mmm. Mint chocolate. It made me feel better. Then I kind of wandered off to the pits again, then when I came back, I spent like, 45 minutes looking for Smita. I bumped into some other people along the way, and I even sat down by myself because I was so exhausted. Eventually, I did find Smita. She had moved to the second level of stairs, where most other people from our team had moved to so we could watch the finals in the Einstein section. Though we didn't get picked, I'm glad our top alliance of our division (Archimedes) won. The guy who presented the Chairman's Award had a... sniffing problem. I noticed people around me were laughing and I didn't know why, but then I realized he was sniffing after every sentence. Poor guy, everyone was making fun of him. But it was still hilarious.

After the Chairman's Award winner was announced and confetti and streamers fell from the sky (and that was pretty sweet!), we all departed to the afterparty, which was held in a park. There were carnival games and rides, food, and a live band. I got to even meet Dean Kamen and Woodie Flowers! (They are big BIG celebrities in the FIRST community.) They signed my safety goggles, haha. Smita, Rachel, and I got group pictures with Dean and Woodie, and when the whole team gathered together (we wanted to go back early to go swimming in the hotel), we all got to meet Woodie, who signed most of our ugly shirts/polos and we got a group picture with. When we were waiting to meet him, we started chanting "Woodie! Woodie! Woodie!" and then he kind of grinned at us in a silly way, haha. We even asked him to go swimming with us. haha. That would have been freaking awesome if he actually did, but oh well. :P

We asked Mr. Laughlin to pick us up from the party early so we could go swimming, but when he got there he told us the pool was closed, and since he came all the way here to take us home, he was going to take us back early to the hotel anyways. Then he told us we had to be in our rooms and blah blah. People were offended and upset because Mr. Laughlin sounded pissed off, but when Jason talked to him personally later he said he wasn't angry and the same rules for last night applied tonight? Oh well. Me and my study group studied for APs again, and gossiped a bit with this guy from another team. Twas fun. Then we went into our rooms to bed.

Sunday: We woke up pretty early to go home. Nothing too special happened. The Thunderchickens, a team from Sterling Heights that was on the winning alliance for nationals, were on our plane. We applauded when they came on board, lol. I slept on the plane and studied for APs and pondered life and reflected on the past weekend. The guys in the car on the way back to school were just as annoying on the way there. Then I went home. The end!

Pictures later, I swear!

Anyways, I took my AP test yesterday. I almost missed it since my alarm didn't go out since there was a power outage when I was sleeping. My dad woke me up at 7, and my test was at 7:30. Luckily, I did make it. I'm glad I was still wearing my clothes from Sunday. It made things a lot easier. But yeah, the test went well, though I got cut off from answering every question, but that's okay. Next one is on Thursday (yes, on my birthday) then I'm done! Woot!!!! :D

I'm still not sure about a bday party, but I'm leaning towards no. People are too busy, and I can't figure out what to do that's cheap and can entertain 20+ people. Oh well. It'll get easier to plan this stuff on my own once I'm older.

There's less than a month left at Troy High for seniors... wow... weird. I hope college kicks butt! :)
