Blogging Against Disablism Day

Apparently today is blogging against disablism day, but unfortunately I have so much to do that this is literally the first time I've had a chance to sit down at my computer, let alone ponder what I would write about if I had time to give the subject the attention deserves. Hi~

Your post caught my attention. Autism. My cousin's son is Autistic, and talk about how a life is affected by it. Lot's and lot's of people are affected by it. He's 8 now, and has good days and bad days. And the bad are bad. I don;t know how my cousin does it. She also has a set of twins that are 2!

When you insist on the rights of disabled individuals, you're not just fighting for a minority group, you're also fighting for your partner, you child, your friends, your parents. None of us are immune, and almost none of us will make it to the finish line untouched by illness or "disability."
This is what got me in our post. so true so true. I can only hope that our new president will reinstate these programs. My cousin lives in Wisc and had all kinds of access to funding to help her deal with her son, but like you said, those funds were cut and that money sent overseas. So she had to pull him from the special school he was going to and put him in the public school system, and they are not set up to handle kids like him ( ... )

Things are kind of crazy for me right now, but hopefully everything will settle down soon. I know I'll feel better once I get Isabel started in her various therapies here, but right now we're just working to get her adjusted to all the various major changes in her life.
