sadly, this is hardly unusual amongst charities. assorted donations on behalf of friends' efforts, or just on my own to the leukemia & lymphoma society, the american liver something or other, project bread, doctors without borders, and many more have all gotten me put on busy, rather tenacious email lists that took some effort to expunge myself from. on the other hand, since, i too hit up people for money, it's, i suppose, pretty disingenous to complain too much (i don't know how bad the pmc/jimmy fund is on that score). and i'm pretty sure they've all spent my donation on glossy snail mailings, too.
i think what's so galling about it is that i just expect charities to be, well, nicer, than for-profit entities.
I've always been grossly disappointed with the amount of care H4H owners put into their houses. Always made me think "maybe this is why you couldn't own a house on your own".
The ones in troy I helped build 10 years ago are slowly but surely falling into disrepair. The owners barely lift a finger to fix anything.
