Just Ducky!

Sep 29, 2010 06:50

Okay, I know I've not been around much the last ten days or so, and I haven't time to do more than post and run, but this bit of news was posted on Channel_M and I just have to share and squee!

Oh, NCIS spoiler alert (but not much)...

Ducky Ducky Ducky )

ducky, david

Very nice - I won't mind that at all, but last night's episode was fun too. Nothing better than hearing your favorite actor singing one of your favorite song.

It was a good ep, wasn't it? I so enjoyed hearing David sing. And his forensic psychologist scene near the end was wonderful as well.

I really did enjoy it and it was stirring... of course, I'm just a highland lass at heart.

I'm always delighted when they let him out to play forensic psychologiest - so far, this season is already head and shoulders about last. It's so great that they are going to utilize his talents...

Oh, me, too! I wanted to ask at PaleyFest if there was going to be another Ducky-centric ep, but didn't get the chance. I was too busy smiling a silly, love-struck, fangirly smile at him the whole time. :-)

Someone on the channel posted that she didn't like 'Broken Bird', and that really brought me up short... I mean, I think that ep was magic!

[blink] Isn't that actress a little (actually a lot) young to play a character who "shares a past" with McCallum's character? Heck, according to her online bio, she was born in 1965 (back when McCallum was already playing Illya in MFU.

The trend to be put actresses so much younger (we're talking 30 years here, not 10 or 12!) than the actors together as "couples" definitely turns me off.

Yeah, but it doesn't turn off the guys...

I also think that Hollywood is quite age-ist and weight-ist especially when it comes to women. Or it could be that men tend to be more turned on by visual imagery than women.

Good points, though I don't think romance is the angle here.

And in the same line, wasn't the actress playing his mother just a few years older than him? This is just pretend and the producers know what sells. We'll buy Ducky in just about anything as long as the script is halfway decent. The guys are a harder sell - that is the only explantion of THAT one dress Ziva wore...

Well, I'm available. I'm only twenty years younger, and I'm cheaper. (!)

Seriously (well I'll try) perhaps they're trying to suggest that he's younger ..... but it is absurd when there are so many good looking women in their fifties and sixties about . like me for instance . . .(!)

I really doubt that's the case, but if they were trying to do that, it would be quite the mistake.

DMc looks good for a man in his seventies, but he doesn't look that much younger than his actual age. (Sorry, folks, but he doesn't: the turkey waddle ages him a lot.)

Ouch! Well, I am cool with how he looks, and I don't get the impression he's too bothered either.

No reason he should be bothered. As I said, he looks very good for a man in his seventies (close to hitting his eighties!).

Working, my dear, and then working some more. I worked well over 60 hours last week, including the weekend, and this week has me running ragged, too. There is simply neither time nor energy to post regularly these days. I do hope to at least get Act IV of The Shark Affair up tonight or tomorrow.
