My father wants me to apply for Conscientious Objector status. That wouldn't be an issue considering I consider myself a conscientious objector to war in general

I honestly don't think so. It isn't really much of a law. For example, lately they've been axing a bunch of Arabic translators if they find that they're gay -- and they desperately need translators; so obviously it doesn't matter enough to just take everyone.
Well, I struck an agreement with my father. If I'm agree to at least document my activities up until now with organizations like PFLAG and BRO (my father also suggested I become a quaker) then I don't have to go before the board until they announce that the draft is going to be re-instated. Sounds good to me.
You could always start going to some anti-war rallies ever now and then.
(I still don't really think they'd make you stay long, though, you are obviously gay the moment you open your mouth, and I mean that in the most loving way possible =3 )
