I received an awesome little book in the mail today titled The Book of Books by Les Krantz and Tim Knight. Well, it's 200 pages of lists of books. So every couple of days or so, for discussion and informations sake, I'm going to post a list from the book. Today would be post number one. Under a cut, for your beautimous friends page.

I had a bookmark of Baldwin with his quote, "If you are not afraid to look back then nothing you are facing can frighten you." I always liked that.

I haven't read any of those books listed. Sorry. Although I have wanted to read Ellison's The Invisible Man. Just when we think that our list of books we needed to read couldn't get any longer.

I've not read any of them, which surprises me. There are tons of African American novels... wonder why they picked these??

I like you sharing the lists!!

Well, let me see, maybe they list a reason for the books they chose. I really just skimmed and grabbed the first list.

Well, after skimming...better. It seems that these are 8 novels that evoke the African American life and it's diversity. They are also listed in alphabetical order, not in like a top ten sort of way.

Awesome! Thanks so much for that. I love hearing others feedback on books. It's what makes my world go round. Well. And Todd.
