I've decided to put down The King's Nun by Catherine Monroe. It could be a good book, but I just don't have the time to waste on a book that doesn't call to me. ::frowns:: I'm 50 pages in and I'm not thinking about the book at all. Actually I'm thinking about other books I'd rather be reading. So, I'm going to cut my loses (I bought it new)

I would be curious to know your reaction to Twilight. That book, that series really, irritates the crow out of me...won't tell you why until you've read the first book, though! I don't want to prejudice you.

I would have to say twilight was one of those books you were discribing. I tried to give it a go but closed it 70 pages in. I just could not relate to bella. I disliked the writing style as well.
