Finals and cosplay!
So I haven't updated about ANYTHING for while, I know , I know
The reason being is that well, School ,and my school just happens to be an elimination challenge.
Rather my major just happens to be an elimination challenge.
Read on to Find out why!
At Massart if you fail -
A class: Well that sucks, you have to take it again an may fall be hind in your major
Your finals: Well you will have otdo it over no matter what, just hope you don;t fail the class as well
your reviews: kicked out of major
I wish I were kidding. Like, you can stay in the school - just you are....well...booted from the major.
So Fashion Design at Massart happen to be the most difficult of the eliminations. 30 Sophomores will be trimmed to 16 or less seniors!
Thanks to everyone good friend, Public funding, Massart only has room for a certain number of people! that means you have to weed out the weak.
WITH THAT SAID, CLASS WENT AS SUCH

I did a. Par job? actualy slightly above mediocre. There were people in the class that, could not actually draw the human form - let alone the fashion croqui (the human forms acid driven cousin) So I did pretty good. (ehhhhh) Too bad my friend Celina was AMAZING. Christ that girl can renderd anything. I slightly raged at my final becasue during allllll of my critiques my teacher commented on how I got better every week - then on my review sheet he restated that and that he liked my project, the variety, ect,

Fashion Textiles and u4ia
U4ia is a program where you can make seamless repeats on the computer to design prints for fabic
but we didn't use it. Despite the name of the class.
The class was EXTRMELTY SLOW/ ARRRRGGGGGGHHH
The first class was like BASIC PHOTSHOP, I KNOW ALL OF YOU HAD TO LEANR THIS LAST YEAR AS A REQUIRMENT BUT APPRENTLY ONLY 3 PEOPLE IN THE CLASS KNOW WHAT THE PEN TOOL IS. FUCK.
so the first like, three classes, were 'Basic Graphic Design Skills 101'
And after that, I already thoroughly was bored with the class we started doing the prints.
First in Illustrator, and after like 5 projects our teacher informed us that's not the 'proper' way to make make the prints, and that she would teach us it next/
8 WEEKS IN SHE TOIGHT US THE PONT OF THE CLASS. WE HAVE 11 WEEKS.
After she thought us the very, very simple way of repeating a graphic everything was ridiculously easy and the class become even more boring and tedious because she didn't tell us
1. How we would be graded
2. What our Finals would be
3. What would be expected to be in our review portfolio
A Week before reviews she told us.
Yeah. She didnt ask or expectet ANYTHING from us through the entire semster then all of a sudden she wants 3 prints from each project in seamless repeat. ( protip 6 of the projects we made BEFORE we learned seamless repeat. So we all had to redo a ton of tediously annoying work)
then the Final! The finals that was given to us a week before the deadline. All other finals were and were supposed to be started and let aware of 3 weeks before the deadline.
Project: Create 4 prints with 3 color ways each
of and your color palette can only be the same 10 colors. for 12 prints that had to be of a certain level of complexity.
This project NOT a week project, espically since we had other projects and had to print everything!
Luckily I have photoshop on my computer so I didnt have to live at the school as much as other people.
My teachers fucking hated them, like a lot.
Not becasue it didn't meet the requirements, or were badly done, or the visual were poor.
She didn't like them on a personal level.
Final Project grade B-
And since we didn't know how we were to be graded and that counted for 70% of the overall grade. Fuck
Also this teacher, oh lord.
Now I could tell that she knew what she was doing and that her would was probably very good but shes one of those people that are horrible teaching others. So that made a lot of the class incredibly unenjoyable
She aslo hated me. I don;t know what it was but she HATED ME. Like she would come over to my computer, look at it and say, 'Oh that looks terrible'

ARE THE VISUAL ELEMETNS NOT WORKING TOGETHER?
IS THE OVERALL SPCAING OF THE PRINT POOR IN DESIGN?

Pattern Drafting and Construction! =D
BEST CLASS. Its one of the classes you look forward to going to and not have to drag your self outta bed for it.
unfortunately its one of those situations where you cant think of anything good but only the bad things ( aka school)
but thanks to the class I have a 3 books of miniature pattern slopers. fffff
Oh lord Our final was the Easiest thing ever, I only wish our class was given more than 4 day to do it.
Sew mock-up dress in muslin using the basic size 10 eased slopers made in class.
Extra credit = self bound seams on all seams
Score 99
In top 3 of 30 sophomores
Well correction to that
my IN CLASS Finals went something like this
- teacher walks around, inspects everyones dress. says to everyone good job, nice ____, ect ect
- gets to my dress, nothing good to say, at all.
- when given grade she said it would of been lower if I had not done the extra credit

Idk what happened, she always the nice teacher that is not a bitch and always appreciates when I help out and shit with the machines.
I would of been fine if it were a 'oh be though on her becasue shes done stuff become' but her tone and stuff was just malicious.

- leave for the day, the ncome back to pick it up

I think My teacher may of become addicted to drugs becasue of us
Like hes a BU teachers and in class kept saying how we wanted to be 'more Bohemian' and 'artsy'
and he would onyl give us 3 minute breaks so none of us could go out to smoke. apprently he didnt like smokers, he told us this.
And he was always happy. always
but buy the ned of class he dressed like a hobo, was always like.....jumpy...and trailed off on sentences and stuff
and started smoking and coming to class late.

Italian Renaissance part 1
Good class, highly enjable
but my teacher REALLY liked Giotto, so we got a good 5 weeks of Giotto.

I am debating on what material I should make the ......boot....things. + gloves/hat out if.
Like I cant decide if I should use a material with a Matte finish or a Shiny finish.
Like If I go with Matte I know what I am going to go, most of what I'd be doing for that would be pretty sturdy too and I wouldnt need any more support , but with a Shiny finish like PVC or something I would have to either use a fuck ton of faceing to make the mstand up or have some sort of support system.
So to anyone that either Watches the show/Cosplays/ectect What do you think?
