Hi, i'm new here and i have one question. I have a nice tail but i'm scared about wearing it in public. I would like to know before I go out into the world, do people really come and ask you about your tail? what does it feel like have people staring at you all the time? And what are some answers do you give people when, and if they do ask about ( Read more... )

My usual answer when people pass comment about me where a tail is just to say "I felt like it." That usually gets the jerks to either A.) pause and rethink their strategy or B.) simply head off, and the ones who are legitimately curious usually just ask further out of curiosity.

My other response is "I enjoy wearing costumes" which tends to get a similar response as the above.

Late reply but, when wearing a tail, you are definitely going to get looks. I was quite nervous when I first started wearing them to furmeets and at a furmeet, I was surrounded by other people doing it. XD I have since found it very fun and love getting the usual reactions from the public.

Just play on it and turn any negative reactions to your favor or ignore them. When someone asks "Why are you wearing a tail?" some responses could be:

"Where's yours?"

"What? *looks around*"

"I think it's neat."

"I think it's fun."

and any variations of those.

Along with Kijani_Lion, I have also had people asking me where to get one or telling me it's really cool. :) Be prepared for reactions that range anywhere from "Awesome!" to "What's your problem? Do you think you're a dog?" and nastier words. Being in a group helps as well.
