Prompt 089: "I like your face"
Summary: Kangin and Ryeowook look through some old pictures together.

"Hyung! I'm home!" Ryeowook called through the house. He pulled his shoes off at the door, balancing himself on the wall. Stepping through the doorway to the living room, he spotted Kangin sitting on the couch immeadiately. He was hunched over the coffee table in front of him and looked up as Ryeowook stepped into the room. Smiling he motioned for Ryeowook to take a seat beside him.

"Guess what I found, Wookie. You'll like these." Kangin said, as Ryeowook made his way over to his side. He glanced at the table, curious, and smiled when he saw that there were stacks upon stacks of old pictures. Pictures from back when Super Junior was in their trainee days. Back when they were still a band. They are all still great friends, all living in the same neighborhood, all neighbors, except they weren't the same as they used to be. It's not the fact that SM broke the band up, but they weren't the same due to the face that there was only 12 now. One of them was gone. Sungmin had died in a house fire a year after they had broken up. Ryeowook lived with him then, but was at a late night photoshoot when it had happened.

"Pictures? Where did you find these?" Ryeowook asked, picking up a handful. He flipped through them slowly, smiling and remembering the memories that the photos had captured.

"Heechul brought them by today. He found them in his stuff at his parents house." Kangin said, laughing as he flipped through another stack of photos. "I've been seperating them into piles." He nodded toward the table where there were several neat piles of photos. Pointing to the biggest stack, which was around 4 times as large as the others he said "There's quite a lot of Heechul in here. He was such a princess."

"Was? Heechul is still a princess and he hasn't even been in any dramas lately." Ryeowook laughed, as he helped seperate the photos with Kangin. He laughed as he saw a photo of Donghae and Eunhyuk, playing soccer with those kids from Adonis Camp. He missed those days. The Idol days, where everyday was hectic, but also very calm. Those days, he always had someone to lean on. He was part of a group, and they were like his safety net, always there if he fell. They were still there, but not as close knit anymore. Most of them had their own familes that they had started, or had different lives altogether.

He placed Donghae and Eunhyuk's picture in their pile and glanced at the next picture. His heart froze and his smile wiped off his face. It was a picture of four people. He glanced at all their smiling faces. Leeteuk. Kangin. Himself. Sungmin. They were all sitting on the couch at the old Suju apartment, laughing at some joke that was long ago forgotten. Leeteuk's head thrown back in laughter as he clutched a pillow to his chest. Kangin's mouth wide open and his eyes almost squeezed shut. His own mouth slightly open, laughing as he looked at Sungmin. Sungmin was laughing also, true happiness in his eyes. The picture was taken back in the Kangteuk RyeoMin days. Kangteuk was a big deal, all the fans loved it, the whole band loved it. They were together for almost 6 years altogether. Sungmin and Ryeowook were a new thing, just begun, but what they had was real, and hard to find.

He tore his eyes away from Sungmin's smiling face and they landed on Kangin's face, forever laughing. He stared at it for a couple second before realizing something that has been in front of him for a while. He was falling for Kangin. He had been living with Kangin since the fire. Kangin has been there for him the whole time. He was always focusing on the pain of losing Sungmin that he hadn't realized that feelings for Kangin were growing somewhere deep beneath.

Kangin looked over at Ryeowook, holding a picture out of himself, when he was going through a tough time with his weight. When he saw Ryeowook's face, his smile dropped also and he glanced down at the picture. His hand gently took the picture from Ryeowook's hands and then Kangin's arms encircled him. Ryeowook still wasn't over losing Sungmin and still hadn't stopped blaming himself. Yes, it had been two years, but Sungmin was gone and he thought that if would have been home, he'd still be here.

Tears slowly crept out of his tightly shut eyes, his teeth digging into his bottom lip.

"It's okay, wookie. I'll put the picture away and I'll make you some kimchii. It wasn't your fault." Kangin sighed, rubbing soft circles in Ryeowook's back. Ryeowook nodded and pulled away from Kangin, and wiping his cheeks. He wasn't about to disagree with Kangin again. They'd done it almost everyday the first year, but Ryeowook wouldn't accept that it wasn't his fault.

Kangin gathered the rest of the unseparated pictures and placed them in the box again, before placing the lid on it.

"Hey, Hyung?" Ryeowook said, as Kangin started to go into the kitchen, picture still in his hand. Kangin turned around and smiled softly at Ryeowook.

"You don't have to call me hyung anymore. I'm willing to be your oppa, or your friend, or your Kangin." Kangin laughed.

"Okay. Uhm, Oppa?" Ryeowook said, before chuckling a little. "Oppa Kangin, can I have the picture?" Kangin held up the picture in his hand and glanced at it.

"This picture? Doesn't it hurt to look at?" Kangin said softly. Ryeowook nodded slightly.

"Yes, but, I want it." Ryeowook said, getting up and walking over to Kangin.

"Why's that?" Kangin asked, as Ryeowook told hold of the picture and stared at it.

"Because, I like you face. Its so happy and carefree and....beautiful." Ryeowook looked up to see Kangin staring at him. "Thank you, hy... Oppa." Ryeowook smiled and held the photo to his chest. He wasn't thanking Kangin for the picture. He was thanking him for much more. For everything and he was sure that Kangin knew that.

"You're welcome Ryeowook." Kangin said. "Now, how about that Kimchi?" he laughed and Ryeowook joined in, a true laugh. A laugh that hasn't been heard for a long time.
