Ok so while everyone else is freaking out about applying to ivy leagues early and finishing all their comp lit stuff and understanding AP Physics and doing a million things and whatnot ( Read more... )

well BU kind of is an answer to the whole conservatory vs. academics thing. our college of fine arts is pretty good as far as ive heard (can't say about the sax program) but if you do change your mind we have something like 11 other colleges you could easily transfer to. you could also get a dual degree between two colleges. but it is far away, and the weather is different. im not saying it is perfect for you, but it might be worth looking in to.

the BU music department is sooooo frickin inaccessable....i sent so many emails and left messages trying to get a lesson and visit, and they never responded, hence forcing me to rule them out without even a visit. Definitly consider U Oregon...its the same price as UC's for out of state and the music program is super close knit....getting time to see your prof. is never a big issue..... And the conducter is the best I have ever worked with.....no joke....

well i do have an email for the College of Fine Arts Music Organizations Director. He's also in charge of the pep band so I see him at least once a week. if you find yourself looking at schools on the east coast you should check it out, and if you want the email, just let me know.
