sometimes, i just want to yell at my mother
DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU SUCK AT BEING A MOM??!
(she hates any phrase involving the word 'suck')
but then i think to myself
she can't help it. it's just the way she is.
but it's still lame/frustrating/hard.

My mom always remembers (fondly) those times when they'd be talking, then all of a sudden your mom would be in her own world, staring into space for minutes at a time. . .then she'd fly back down, park her spaceship and be right back in the conversation, as if nothing was wrong.
But my mom has mild Turretts(sp?) and occasionally screams "HO!", whether she's home or in public. My father always tells her to stop advertising. Taaaalk about dysfunction. ;)

we try to just accept it and move on,
