How would this work alongside the police? I'm a member of the force but haven't been here long enough to know how they handle such large-scale emergencies. Do they conduct these sorts of missions themselves, making this a strictly civilian team, or would the two overlap?

I'd like the ERT and the police force to be separate. They would help in the disasters before, yeah, but it's not really supposed to be their job. At least I don't think it was. They just did it because there was no other group assigned to that sort of thing, and it needed to get done by someone!

Nope! The police would take care of it, though it wasn't totally their responsibility. So I thought a group like this would help everyone out!

Yeah, that's what I thought! Since they're always busy with something... And not everyone can join the police force to help.

And this would be easier, since no one who joins has to worry about laws or anything like that.
