[He's distracted by the eye at first, but only for a moment.]

What pisses them off like that?

Betraying them, usually. I guess you weren't here for my show?

Short story; I joined the royal guard, found out some stuff they didn't like and got punished for it.

Is there a list of things that count as 'betraying' them?

[And he definitely can't help but frown at the mention of a royal guard.] A double-agent then, or an accident?

Not that I know of. They get pissed off at everything anyway.

Double-agent. I did this all on purpose for information.

Sounds like fun. [Sarcasm. He has it.]

That means they'll probably be looking to catch more of them, I guess. How did you get in in the first place, and how long were you working as one?

It was a blast.

Probably. They had open sign-ups so I jumped on first chance I got back -- uh...five months ago maybe?

Can you still see out of it?

Would it be worth the information to join, or did you get everything out of them before you got.. caught?

Yeah, I can see fine.

The guard? That's up to you, I know I didn't get everything though.

That's good! It's really annoying getting used to using only one eye.

Anything left there that you think would help with finding a way out?

Yeah, I know the feeling. I actually had mine ripped out a few months back, but someone made me a new one. I need to stop fucking up my eyes.

No idea. But I really don't suggest trying anytime soon. They're on the lookout for traitors thanks to me.

[He can't help but flinch at that - wincing mutely as it aggravates his wounds - and brings a hand up on instinct to cover his patched-over eye. It's hard to imagine losing one, and what that would mean for him and Agito.] Was the one made for you mechanical or organic?

Yeah, I know. I grew up doing this kind of thing, but I'm still going to exhaust the more non-dangerous recon before trying it again.

Organic. You can't tell now, but it was a little lighter than my natural eye colour.

S'probably for the best that you start low and work up. I really don't suggest running headfirst into it like I did. Any help we can get is good though.

I wonder if it sounds different... [He muses aloud, then tugs awkwardly on the hem of a sleeve. He's only so good at feeling confident without Agito pressing back against his mind, and it's beginning to wear on him.] Ah, sorry.. We can't do that organically at home yet - just mechanically.

Un, yeah - I know. It's too easy to miss information if you aren't taking your time, even when it seems like there's nothing to miss.
