[ The message below shows up on the network fairly early in the morning, at dawn actually. Either the Professor was up all night, or he is an early bird. ]

For a city that is keeping us prisoner inside our own minds, the sunrises are simply stunning. I will give the Queen and King that much. Though I would much rather be asleep at the moment ( Read more... )

I have spent most of my time in my mind, and I am sure that this isn't inside of it. It seems more like we are stuck inside of someone else's if we are stuck in one at all.

The sunrises are really nice though - especially from a roof.

Or we are stuck in a combined mind.

[Akito thinks about it for a few minutes before answering.]

Like a train station? Everyone's minds boarding a train going to one place, but being re-routed to a station they never intended to go.

I think of it as we are all connected, and this place is the meeting point. Not all roads over the world end in Rome.

That makes sense.. Trains can't get anywhere if the tracks aren't connected. If a person can believe their soul goes somewhere after death, I guess it isn't any stranger to believe it can go somewhere while still living.

I take it you do not put stock in the idea of the afterlife?

No, I know that it exists. It's this place that I have a harder time putting stock in.

Given you're here that sounds rather silly.

A lot of things sound silly. I know what the afterlife is even though I haven't been there, yet I don't know what this place is even though I am here.

[It's confusing to a degree that's almost distressing. He's glad Agito is a late riser, otherwise he would be nursing quite the headache.]

If this was a mind at all, Agito would be beside me and not inside of me. If this was in my mind it would look very different, and I wouldn't be able to keep going inside of it here.

It is all too confusing. It would have been nice if I had just went to the afterlife after dying instead of this place. [Then he would have some friends with him.]

[ Well... that was unexpected. ]

It's not in our minds, our minds have just been brought here.

That's what I thought at first, but then I kept hearing things that made me less sure. He'll be happy to have a straight answer when he's up, so thanks! And sorry for talking so much, especially so early.

How long have you been here?

Just over a month.

And most people here tend to stay for at least that long, right?

It all depends, I suppose. Some have been here for months, others have been here only a few weeks.
