[It was a nice calm, sunny day in Il Promenade. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and all was...not entirely well. In the short time he was here, Cloud had gotten used to a fairly complacent and mostly polite local populace. Today however Cloud's sharp hearing and eyesight could pick up dark glares and muttered insults aimed at him as he ( Read more... )

It is going to take a fair amount of scrubbing, * He draws a hand to his chin, fingers curling into his palm as he looks past Cloud to the church. * But it's nothing that I can't deal with. * His gaze lifts and he offers Cloud a smile. * Sebastian Michaelis, at your service.

Cloud Strife. [He gives Sebastian a short nod in return, no quite up to smiling right now.] What would you suggest then? Would dreamed up soap and water do?

I do not think soap and water would do. We may need something a little stronger, more potent...

An...acquaintance...[Though Cloud isn't sure that's the right word for Sephiroth] suggested acetone.

...... wow.

[Madsen just ... blinks, noticing that the others have sidestepped her with a yell of "Look out! She's got swords too!" While she just watches them leave with a flat look on her face.]

And here I thought people couldn't act more like dicks already.

People are sheep in some ways. They're angry, but they don't know who to be angry with, so they pick the obvious and easy targets.

[Cloud's setting down his sword, and is dreaming up pails of soapy water and sponges.]

Oh, don't worry, I know. Sad thing this has been happening more and more lately.

[Madsen ties her two swords together and makes sure they're secure on her hip before grabbing a sponge as well.]

Thought that this place would be better about this sort of thing, being a "city of dreams" and all. [She snorts.] Guess some things don't change, even away from a war.

Dreams seem to mean different things to different people. Dunno what it actually means to natives here.

[He turns to look at Madsen as she joins him in the scrubbing, pausing in his efforts to say awkwardly:] Er...you...don't have to help me clean up. This is my place. Sort of. So I can handle it.

[ She's not going to be very helpful right now as she stands off to one side, watching as the vandals rushed past her. With one hand on her sword, she gives the blond man a really poor attempt at a sympathetic look, ]

How unfortunate. Did you do something to anger them?

[ Cloud gives her this blank stare in reply.]

No more than you did.

How do you know what I've done? They seem to just be annoyed by us merely existing.

I don't. Just an assumption that since those Guards having dragged you off for hurting people, you haven't. And I haven't either, not even with words.

[And Cloud's walking past you to start the cleanup by taking out all the TP littering the place. He doesn't expect Calena to help, or anyone really. This is his place in the city and he holds himself responsible for it.]

Brats. Never got taught any manners, huh?

[Crow shakes his head at the scene - he's never been much a fan of vandalism, no matter how common it had been back in the days of the Duel Gang Wars; Martha's raised him better than that.]

's long as it hasn't dried, water 'nd a good detergent should do.

[Cloud snorts.] Probably not. [Cloud was a relatively good kid himself, so no random acts of vandalism from him either.]

They were just finishing when I arrived, so it's probably not completely dry yet.

[Crow isn't sure if he'd qualify as 'good' kid to usual standards, but he's certainly always known better than to vandalize a church of all things.]

Seems like you scared them pretty good though. Might get them to think twice the next time they get bored.

[Or try again, depending on how thrill seeking they are.]

That should make things easier then.

[Cloud shrugs.] They'll just look for a more convenient target if they're really stubborn or extra bored.

[He sighs and eyes the damage again. The cleaning will take some time.] I better get started then.

Best to ignore them.

If it's still fresh, scrub it with water. If that's not sufficient, use a chemical solvent. Perhaps acetone.

They're innocents, yes. I wonder if we have a true enemy here.

A general must know these things.
