Oh, yes, that's right. I didn't sacrifice my whole 4-day weekend to stay with you. I don't ditch my friends on a daily basis just to sit with you...no. Not at all. I'm just some jerk who won't stand up for you. Who doesn't do a damn thing for you. That's right, I almost forgot. Sorry about that.

I never said you were a jerk. I guess I knew deep down that you view spending time with me as a sacrifice, but it still hurts to have you actually say it. I know we have different definitions for things, but "ditching" someone usually implies that you are ignoring plans that were made first, so I'm probably the one who gets ditched more. I thought that at my age I had learned to deal with being left alone, but I guess I haven't, so I'll keep working on it. I told Amy to make sure she doesn't plan anything for tomorrow night because we're going out for my birthday. I did tell you we were going out, but I forgot to mention the day, so I hope you're not busy, especially in light of what happened last year. You know that I'd rather have truthfulness, even if it hurts my feelings, so I'll try to stop informing you that you're doing things with me, and you need to tell me no if you have a previous engagement
