I am so sorry you feel so crappy! I'm glad they finally got it figured out!

I started wondering about the pertussis vaccine and how long it is active in your system.. does it wear off like some? Interesting anyway.

Jeremy had Scarlet Fever, too. They try not to call it that because it scares people, they kept calling it "Strep Throat with Rash".
We asked.. and yes, it's Scarlet Fever.

When I had scarlet fever, I walked into the dr's office thinking I had the measles. I hadn't heard of scarlet fever in such a long time or in someone my age. Just lucky I guess. Now everytime I get Strep I am paranoid that I will get the rash too. They told me scarlet fever is something that lays dormant in your system but if you've had it you are susceptible to it again

I guess the pertussis vaccine must wear off. I remember being vaccinated but seeing as I seem to have contracted it, I guess I'm not protected anymore
