my first attempt at a poem

hey guys. this is my first real attempt at a poem. i thought of it at 1:00 am this morning, and it sounded a lot better in my head, but i forgot to write it down before i fell asleep, so this is what i remember of it.



I'm sorry I'm not perfect
I'm sorry I'm not her
I'm sorry I'm not skinny, younger, and blonde
I'm sorry that I loved you
All year long
I'm sorry you can't accept me
I'm sorry you never loved me
I'm sorry that you couldn't be happy
With just me
I'm sorry I can't be me
Around you
But one thing I'm not sorry about?
Now I'm free,
And you don't have to lie to me anymore,
