Author's Note: I tried to do more of a theme than that, but it just wasn't working for me. My brain doesn't work well with themes.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of CSI:NY or Supernatural. They're owned by CBS and the CW.
#01 - Air
“Who needs fresh air?” he grumbled sleepily, before yanking back on her hand so that she landed on top of him, wrapping her in a hug before she could get away.
#02 - Apples
“Not happening,” Dean said, keeping his feet planted on the outside border of the apple orchard continuing to protest as she tugged on his hand to get him to follow her, “I’ve seen one to many fugly scarecrows go psycho on my ass to even think of setting foot in there.”
#03 - Beginning
“I told you in the beginning that I didn’t do the holding hands thing,” he murmured, as she kissed him, trying to distract him from the fingers slipping into his own, clearly telling him that she really didn’t care.
#04 - Bugs
“Why can’t you be scared of bugs like a normal girl?” he asked as he tugged on her hand, trying to pull her away from the exhibit on flesh-eating beetles that was royally freaking him out.
#05 - Coffee
He tells her he has to go again over a cup of coffee, and she doesn’t say anything, just gives his hand a squeeze, and silently prays he’ll come back safe.
#06 - Dark
He had scared her out of trying to get into his head a long time ago, showing her some of the darkest parts she never wanted to see.
#07 - Despair
She wanted to hate both him and especially Sam, after Madison’s death, but no how hard she tried, she couldn’t block out the looks on their faces when they told her what happened, and the silent despair as well.
#08 - Doors
She practically begged Flack to give her the key to the door of the interrogation room, asking him to let her go in and try to talk Sam into confessing, but Flack knew that she was just going to get Dean in there to talk to him.
#09 - Drink
The only time Jessica actually said yes to Dean buying her a drink was a matter of convenience-the asshole hitting on her wouldn’t leave her alone, and Dean was more than willing to make him go away.
#10 - Duty
She slid into the passenger’s seat of the Impala where Dean was asleep at the wheel, probably taking his turn on Angell-watching duty, and she tapped his shoulder, “Fallin’ asleep on me, Winchester?”
#11 - Earth
She watched as they lowered Madison into the earth, and she suddenly, for a reason she didn’t quite understand, grasped her hand in his, and for another reason which she had a feeling she’d never know, he didn’t let go.
#12 - End
“Is it over?” she asked when Dean showed up, covered in dirt and blood (most of it was his own-at least that’s what she hoped), and he only nodded slowly, before making a beeline for her shower.
#13 - Fall
She was surprised by how easily she fell when it came to Dean, especially considering that she spent the first half of their relationship having no desire to fall at all.
#14 - Fire
“So we’re stuck out here?” she asked as he started to build the fire in front of them, and when he told her that that was indeed the case, she sighed heavily before looking away from him, “Fan-tastic.”
#15 - Flexible
Dean knows he’s asking her to be pretty flexible by being in a relationship with him; but then again, he knows that if their relationship were more-well, normal-she would be asking the same of him.
#16 - Flying
“But why do we have to freakin’ fly there,” Dean whined as Jess took pried his hand from its death grip on the airline seat and slipped it into hers, trying to be as comforting as she could in those uncomfortable seats.
#17 - Food
“Didn’t your mother ever teach you how to eat?” she asked, before quickly taking it back as Dean looked up from the food he was shoveling in his mouth, “-Sorry.”
#18 - Foot
“Boy, now you listen to me,” Missouri sighed, as she and Dean watched Jessica as she walked around their living room, “If you hurt this girl, my foot will be so far up your ass you’ll be choking on it.”
#19 - Grave
“You know grave robbing is illegal, right?” she asked as she watched Dean and Sam dig up the grave in front of them; when they looked up at her, she added on the end, “Not that you really care to begin with.”
#20 - Green
“Whadaya know?” he smirked as they wandered around Central Park, “There actually is some green in New York City.”
#21 - Head
“I’m gonna be serving up Dean Winchester’s head on a plate, Detective,” Hendrickson said as he leaned into Angell’s face, “And whether or not you help me get him, or I serve you up with him is up to you.”
#22 - Hollow
She shuddered as his tongue ran over the hollow of her throat, and when she brought him back up to kiss him, sealed the silent promise that he would still be there in the morning.
#23 - Honor
She had never met John Winchester, but the way Dean painted him, giving him a lot of honor and love for his sons, in her gut she wished she had.
#24 - Hope
Sam needed Dean to be his hope, and he knew she understood that, but when the question was asked of who was going to be the hope for him, he answered that he really didn’t know.
#25 - Light
She wished she could say that she was the light at the end of the tunnel for Dean, but she knew that Dean wouldn’t hesitate to put his brother before her in a heartbeat, and she really didn’t blame him.
#26 - Lost
“Too many damn streets in this city,” he muttered as he cautiously navigated the Impala through the narrow streets, obviously lost, and he cut her off as she was about to speak, “And if you mention the idea that we should have taken a cab again-you’re walking.”
#27 - Metal
She felt the cold metal of the butt of the gun pressing into her hand when she went to take off his shirt, and she placed it down on the table next to him before she kissed him again, telling him he didn’t need it while he was with her.
#28 - New
“Is he always this persistent when he wants to get laid?” Lindsay asked as she and Sam watched Dean get shot down by Jessica yet again, “Or is this a new thing?”
#29 - Old
“I’m surprised,” she said as she studied the Impala, a cup of coffee in her hand, and when he asked her why, she gave him a smirk, “That because of how old it is, it’s not a total hunk of junk.”
#30 - Peace
It was almost like an inner peace happened when he stepped into her apartment-neither of them talked about work, and just spent the time with each other, hoping they wouldn’t have to.
#31 - Poison
He knew that having something as long term as it was turning into with Jessica could wind up being disastrous for both of them, but however poisonous the relationship could be, neither one of them could bring themselves to stop.
#32 - Pretty
Intially she had just been the pretty detective that worked with his cousin-meaning he was going to charm her, sleep with her once or twice and then move on-he never had actually intended to fall for her the way he did.
#33 - Rain
Dean shows up at her front door, soaked from the rain, and she doesn’t question it; it had happened too many times for her to do so anymore.
#34 - Regret
Dean only asked her if she regretted being with him when he had just finished a bad case-something that pushed him farther than he wanted to go-and when he did, the answer was always no.
#35 - Roses
She had to give him credit, he tried his best, in his own way, to keep them as normal as possible-despite the fact that she could have lived without the half-wilted roses that involved a stammering apology for missing Valentine’s Day in favor of a poltergeist on Fifth Avenue that needed attending to.
#36 - Secret
Dean was always keeping a secret from her-he didn’t want to do it, but he didn’t see any other way around it; every time they turned a corner, there was something else he didn’t want her to know.
#37 - Snakes
“They look pretty freakin’ real to me, Dean,” she said, glaring at him when the Trickster’s hallucination of snakes had her crawling up the walls trying to get away from them.
#38 - Snow
Dean shows up at her front door, covered in snow, but this time there’s a giant smile on his face instead of the normal tired look he usually gives her, “Merry Christmas, Jess.”
#39 - Solid
What they had was far from solid, but it worked for what they did have, and for where she was in her life, and who she was with, it worked for her just fine.
#40 - Spring
Spring in the city was beautiful, especially in Central Park, but after not seeing Dean for almost four months, she really had no intention of going outside.
#41 - Stable
When a friend outside the whole situation asked her how stable things were between her and this ‘new guy,’ the first words out of her mouth were “Define stable.”
#42 - Strange
“You sure about that?” Sam and Dean replied simultaneously when Stella claimed that the strange noises coming from the monastery were not a sign of a haunting, and Angell laughed when the other woman turned to Lindsay and told her that they were definitely her cousins.
#43 - Summer
She never implied it in any way, but he always felt like she only gave into him because that one summer he saved her life.
#44 - Taboo
“Angell, you’re dating a guy who drives around the country hunting demons for a living,” Lindsay said matter-of-factly as they walked out of the precinct, “I think that’s a bit more taboo than some unconventional sex practices.”
#45 - Ugly
The break-up was ugly, probably uglier than either of them had expected-neither of them had realized that they were holding on so hard.
#46 - War
“I’m not going to do it, Sam,” she said, and he grinned back at her as she sipped her beer, “I’m too old to be going to war with a girl who looks like she’s twelve, just to feed your brother’s ego-not gonna happen.”
#47 - Water
“Don’t I even get a glass of water?” he smirked as she sat down across from him, and the look on her face told him that she was pretty much ready to smack him with the file she had in her hands.
#48 - Welcome
“Well, that wasn’t a very warm welcome,” she muttered, and Dean laughed as they were greeted at the Roadhouse with the usual when it came to meeting new people-a pair of shotguns, and being stared down by Jo and Ellen.
#49 - Winter
“I’ll kick their asses for you if you want?” he said as he followed her into down the sidewalk, helping her brush the snow from her hair from the winter showdown between the kids on the street and the cops.
#50 - Wood
They both leaned back against the tree, the wood from the bark digging into their backs, and she glanced over the rope that had them tied to the tree before turning back to him, “So-seen any good movies lately?”
