Name Help!

Jul 13, 2010 15:14

I'm looking for name / website name advice. I'm still technically a Heritage Makers consultant, but I'm REALLY not into the whole 'doing parties' thing, and I'm not even really into putting my energy into having digicrops and stuff at my house right now. It's just not where my business interests currently lie. HOWEVER, I still love scrapbooking and ( Read more... )

NOT savior, yeah, that's a little too messiahy for scrapbooking...

It also has to be extremely memorable. I wouldn't even necessarily worry about your name. People would have to remember how to spell your name....people would forget, use christy and get lost in the www. I'm thinking something kitchy and catchy. IMHO.

I was thinking the same thing. Don't use your name. I think it sounds too small-town-ish, too, like "Nails by Kristi".

I don't really like any of them; they seem too generic. You need to "pop" in people's minds.

I'll try to think of something to suggest.

oh Kate! What would I do without you to remind me of all my past business-type ideas that I've conveniently forgotten? LOL! You're right, I forgot all about that domain. And that one would be pretty awesome. Now to get onto the "how to make a functional website" part of the thought... sigh. To further the email I sent you the other day, OJ suggested I could use Google Sites to build one myself, but I don't know anything about that at this time. Any feedback for me on that avenue?

We need to talk live..so I can ask you questions. I don't know anything about Google Sites, that might be a good place to start if thats what you want to do...but perhaps working on your content will be helpful.

If you know exactly what content you have, you'll know what kind of function/space/graphics/etc you'll need.

Content =
Text: Generally is 3-4 paragraphs per page with a sales message between each paragraph if not embedded in each paragraph. (what pages are you planning on having? home, rates, portfolio type page, contact, etc)
Images: Perhaps a sample or two of a finished page on each page
Contact page: perhaps a photo of you with a simple contact form that includes your hours of operation and phone/email

Thats roughly what you need before development/design gets started.

just let me know when is good for you to chat! I'd love to pick your brain a little. I used google sites briefly to create my kristidorson.com page and if you look at it, you'll see that I didn't even finish that page yet, I've just kind of left it in limbo because frankly, I found google sites to be kind of clunky to work with and a little confusing. But that might be because I haven't given myself a chance to learn it really. And it might also be that it just isn't quite able to do exactly what I WANTED for that personal site. I don't know ( ... )
