You must understand, very small town. Tiny. The nearest real rink is, oh, two hours away, I believe? We've got a little (tiny) outdoor rink here that's open from November to the middle of January. And that's it.
But I really do like the skating. Even though I'm on the poor side of feeble when I do it. I'm a bit better at skiing. But only a bit.

We don't get much snow, though it can be cold. Very cold.
Do you not have indoor ice rinks? We get about two inches of snow a year over here, and there's tons of rinks.
I <3 ice skating, incidentally. It's like skiing, only flatter.

Skating rocks! You need to get up to the stage where you can skate backwards etc.
