I'll Be Waiting
Kyuhyun/Sooyoung
“Congratz! You finally graduated!” Kyuhyun patted her head, emphasizing the word ‘finally’.
“Yah! What do you mean by finally!” Sooyoung shot him a glare and pouted.
“I’ve graduated a year ago, and it’s seriously tiring for me to wait till you come out of the university you know,” Kyuhyun teased.
“What? Who asked you to be old?” She retorted, folding her arms.
Kyuhyun used his fingers and touched the surface of the photobook lying on his study table. That photobook holds the precious memories of Sooyoung and him through all these years. He opened it and his fingertips brushed against a photo showing both of them in their graduation outfit. He smiled slightly and glanced around his bedroom. It was so empty, just like how his heart felt.
“Kyuhyun, I’m sorry…I’m leaving…in a weeks time…” Sooyoung stopped in her tracks and suddenly uttered.
She looked at Kyuhyun and swallowed.
“Appa wants me to further my studies in the States, sorry Kyu…he only told me last night.” Kyuhyun looked at Sooyoung, trying hard to force those words out of her, apologies written on her face, biting her lips now and then.
Kyuhyun stepped in front of her and pulled her into an embrace, not wanting to let her go. The wind brushed against their bodies, as they felt each other’s warmth. The overhead streetlamp illuminated their figures, casting elongated shadows that flicker in the street.
“Soo, I’ll wait for you,” Kyuhyun whispered into her ear. Sooyoung gave a little nod, tears brimming in her eyes.
Kyuhyun went to is bed and picked up a colourful scarf, personally knitted by Sooyoung. He admitted it was a great job, since she eating was much more of an interest to her than knitting. That scarf, was like a piece of her, left behind to accompany him for the rest of the time she wasn’t there.
“Kyu…are you coming to the airport tomorrow?” Sooyoung asked hesitantly.
“I hate goodbyes. You know that Soo.”
Sooyoung nodded at his firm answer.
“I understand Kyu…well then can I stay here for the night?”
Kyuhyun smiled and nodded. He brought her up to his room and dimmed the lights. He hugged her from behind, and wrapped his hands around her waist, burying his face in her neck, planting soft kisses here and there, making her feel a tinge of surprise rise within her. He had not been intimate with her before.
He then carried her to his bed and placed himself above her, their faces only a few inches apart. He leaned in and kissed her, his tongue circling her mouth, asking for an entrance. She kissed back, slowly and passionately, savouring the invaluable moment. Kyuhyun pulled back and rolled over to her right, and tilted her head to look at him in the eye.
“I love you. I’ll be waiting,” He whispered.
“I love you too…” Sooyoung placed her head on his chest.
Kyuhyun walked over to his study table and grabbed the calendar, crossing out today. In a month’s time, she would be back in his arms. His lips curved into a smile at the thought of this, as anticipation and happiness overwhelmed him.
It has been three years, and she would be the only one for him. No one else. She may not be perfect, but she was his backbone, his support for the many things he had done in his life. He thanked heaven for making him fall in love with her, like the two poles of the magnet, their attraction slowly became stronger.
“Time…please fly by,” Kyuhyun whispered slid down in his chair, shutting his eyes to the world of darkness.
