“Jessica!?” Sungmin broke through that old piece of wood, supposedly the door, and barged into the room, shocked to see Jessica being tied up to an old rattan chair.
“Mr Lee, what you want is here,” Sungmin panted. “Now let her go.” He pointed to Jessica, apparently struggling and confused about what was happening.
Of course, Sungmin wasn’t all that stupid to realize Donghae’s father had really gone insane - over a title deed. He had called Donghae to come to this desolated old house by the Han Harbour, for today, all truths will come to light.
“Throw it here, and I’ll push her over,” Mr Lee ordered while untying Jessica, and held her by the neck, his fingers clasped around a fruit knife. “Your father, that bastard,” He spat. “He took away the last of my fortune, and now…just give it back to ME!” He hollered and strangled Jessica even tighter.
That wasn’t because we snatched your fortune away. It was because you lost the election. It wasn’t our fault. Sungmin wished he could reason with him, but it was evident he was already out of his mind. Still, Sungmin could not hand over that deed so easily, and yet he also wanted to save Jessica.
How? Sungmin bit his lip and frowned.
“HAND IT OVER!” Mr Lee bellowed.
“Alright alright, I wonder if your son knows what you’re doing, he would be so disappointed to have such a fath-“ Sungmin tried to stall for time.
“CUT THE CRAP AND GIVE IT TO ME,” Mr Lee drew a little cut on Jessica’s throat and she winced. Don’t hurt her, Sungmin begged in his heart. I don’t want to lose the one I love.

“Kyuhyun-ah”
Kyuhyun whipped around, hand in hand with Sooyoung. “Yoona?”
“Did you see Donghae?” She asked worriedly. Both of them shook their heads. Then Sooyoung appeared to have remembered something. “Ahh, he was with Ryeowook at the Chemistry Lab just one hour ago,then-“
“I’m here, where’s Donghae?” Ryeowook burst in, flustered.
“Yah, wasn’t he with you?” An anxious Yoona shook his shoulders and asked.
“No…no, I saw him rush out after a phone call, then I was left alone to clear those chemicals,” Ryeowook panted. “But, I heard him say ‘Sungmin?’ and something like ‘Alright I’ll be right there,’ It sounds like an emergency of some sort,” He continued breathlessly.
“Yah, Kyu, Sungmin hasn’t been answering your calls that’s why we decided to find him right? And we already look in all those possible places yet-“
“Yet we couldn’t find him,” Kyuhyun finished Sooyoung’s sentence off. Actually they had wanted to build up their friendship again, forget the past, and start anew. But Sungmin just disappeared.
“Ohh, maybe Jessica knows,” Yoona lit up. “And then we can find Donghae and Sungmin, Donghae was supposed to bring me to an amusement park today.” Following that she pressed in Jessica’s number and the others waited.
For the tenth time, everyone took a turn to call each of the three, but still no one answered. Yoona started to pace up and down the canteen in apprehension, knocking her knuckles together as her faced creased with worries.
“Jessica…Jessica! Omo, what’s happening!” She half cried, and jumped when her phone buzzed with a text.
“Call for my men, just dial…” Yoona rushed over to the others and read out Donghae’s text. Frantically dialing in the numbers Donghae had asked her too, Sooyoung read out the later part of the text. “Keep it to yourself. And don’t come over. It’s just our personal matters. Please.”
“Oh! Donghae is there, so must be Sungmin…and Jessica!” Sooyoung sprang from her chair and snapped her fingers. “Let’s go to Han Harbour now, quick Kyu!”
But Kyuhyun held her back. “No, as he said, its their personal matter, we shouldn’t just barge-“
“No no no no, I sense danger, come on,” Yoona already had tears running down her cheeks. She grabbed hold of the confused Ryeowook’s hand and ran out of the canteen, with Sooyoung and Kyuhyun at her heels.

Meanwhile, Sungmin had shown Donghae the DNA report, with a faded envelope at the back.
“You’re my, half brother Donghae,” Sungmin enunciated.
“Hy…hyung?” Donghae breathed, unsure. Sungmin nodded.
“Yes, now we have to stop your father.” Sungmin handed the other envelope, which supposedly held the title deed, to Donghae.
“Appa! Let her go, we can talk this over alright?”
“NO. Is that the deed?” Mr Lee loosened his grip around Jessica’s neck and eyed the faded envelope Donghae was holding.
“Ye…yea Appa it’s the deed just let her go now,” Donghae wiped the cold sweat forming on his forehead and yelled. Jessica weakly eyed both of them and broke free off Mr Lee’s grasp, running towards Sungmin. Sungmin held her defensively, and Donghae tried to ignore that little stab in his heart.
“Come over son, give it to Appa,” Mr Lee beckoned Donghae to come forward. He isn’t my appa anymore, he’s mad. He’s hurting my loved ones. I can’t let him get his way. These words played in his mind as Donghae slowly walked towards his father, the title deed in his hand.
“Come on Jessica, let’s go,” Sungmin signaled to Donghae and hurried to the door with Jessica.
Now Donghae wondered why Sungmin had so easily given in to his father.
“Donghae! Sungmin! Jessica!” These three words sounded loudly at the same time footsteps were heard.
Yoona, Sooyoung, Kyuhyun and Ryeowook ran in all at once, at the same moment where Sungmin and Jessica were making their escape, and when Mr Lee snatched the envelope from Donghae and tore it open.
“It’s fake!” He screeched. Donghae gasped in shock and snatched the envelope, seeing it for himself.
The piece of paper…was blank.
“YOU BASTARD!” Mr Lee fished out a gun hidden in his jacket and sent a bullet towards the escaping Sungmin, who was blocked by the sudden barging in of the four other people.
“Yah!” Donghae knocked off the gun but it was too late.
