Hotel California

Have you ever thought of what the song Hotel California is about? Some people say it's about drugs, some people say it's about death. That's digging far too deep. I think the Eagles just watched a really scary movie one night and were too spooked to sleep so they decided to channel all that energy and turn it into a song. Not bad for a bunch of insomniacs, right? When they were too tired to think of lyrics anymore they just jammed and somehow ended up with that guitar solo. Greatness isn't always planned you know. It's not like having greatness thrust upon them so much as... ok well maybe it is. I can't think of a better metaphor.

Speaking of Shakespeare, they must have read Titus Andronicus before writing that song. The whole "gathered for their feast" still gives me the chills. I would have said they saw "Silence of the Lambs" but that wouldn't fit. Let's try to think logically, yeah? Anyway, "Silence of the Lambs" scares me! I have never been able to look at Anthony Hopkins the same way! Although he did play Titus in the film adaptation of the same title directed by the lovely Julie Taymor... coincidence? Probably not. They both eat people. I don't think I had to warn any of you about spoilers because these things are old. I don't care if he was knighted (well I do care, being a knight would be really cool!), Hopkins will always be known as the old man who eats people from now on. I bet he gets offered chianti and fava beans all the time. Free wine is aways good. What's a fava bean? Did you know that his real first name is Philip? What kind of a name is Philip for a cannibal killer who makes funny noises with his mouth? Clearly he and his characters are not the same.

You know who else is scary and not the same as his characters? David Boreanaz, if that is his real name. Did I even spell that right? I don't know. I mean, first he was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then Angel, then that horrible movie "Valentine" where he was a murderer who kills the people who picked on him when he was a geeky kid in school. Cool concept, bad execution. What gave him away (another spoiler alert) was his constant nosebleed. That my friends is not scary. To have your one defining character trait be a nosebleed is pretty ridiculous. Now Boreanaz is playing a cop. Normal right? No more killing people stuff? Wrong. He's on a program called Bones for heaven's sake! Bones! All it's about is dead people! All these forensic shows are even more scary than horror movies, they're far too detailed. I used to love the Who but now everytime I hear them all I can think about is CSI and Grissom and his fascination with bugs. Why does someone like bugs so much. They're creepy too. The other day I woke up because something ticklish flew in my ear and buzzed. I think I started screaming.

Now after I have fully embarrassed myself, I think that's all for today, bloggerites! This was still Charlie by the way, in case you were wondering who wrote it.
