In the Hallways of the School - Middle of the Night

Aug 24, 2007 08:01

Ed was just stupid enough that when he was bored during the night, the decision to go wander around to see what he could find seemed a good one.  He found his way over towards the principal's office...and wasn't there some kind of fuss over her?  Her?  Or him?  He hadn't really been paying attention.  He'd thought that he might have been onto something to solve his Gate issues, but it had all pretty much fallen flat earlier today.  Thus?  Wandering.

"What the...?"  He blinked when he came up on a pile of rubble and what looked like a wall with a hole blasted through it.  That was odd.  Why would someone rebuild a school like that.  It took a second for him to notice the half drawn chalk transmutation circle on the floor.  And another fully drawn one on the wall.  Huh.  Alchemy like that had to be Mustang.  Especially given the stones that looked like they were blackened by flames.

Almost unthinkingly, Edward clapped his hands and restored the hallway to its original state.  Rubble, rocks, new walls, all absorbed back into the walls and floors.  He picked up the knives that were scattered across the hallway too.  Ed told himself he didn't like Mustang, and he didn't care much if there was a bloodstain half-obliterating the transmutation circle on the floor, but somehow the lack of caring translated into a need to check on Al as soon as possible and go find Mustang later today.  Maybe to yell at him for being an idiot.
