As with Sam, I'm going to put a disclaimer on this, and say that even if I do give permission for it on this meme, I'm a huge fan of OOC communication, so if at all possible, I'd love for you to still talk to me about it before we do it. If you need to get a hold of me:

part i.
Character name: Alec McDowell
Fandom: Dark Angel
Species: Transgenic, X5 specific
Character powers: Alec is what’s called a transgenic, meaning he’s not entirely human. In fact, to be specific, he’s a third human, a third kitty DNA, and a third that’s the X5 cocktail. In the Dark Angel universe, transgenics were created to be a better class of soldier, and the X5s were trained to be the generals, while the X6-8s are more of the infantry class of soldier.

As far as the X5 cocktail is concerned, it comes in two parts. Mentally speaking Alec has an eidetic memory and a genius IQ. This allows him to pick up new skills extremely quickly-for example, he went from beginner to classically trained pianist over the course of a few days. He’s also multilingual. Physically, his body produces bonus stem cells which allow him to heal more quickly from injuries. All transgenics are also O negative, so they can swap blood quickly in battlefield situations. He has a much faster metabolism which allows him to process drugs and other narcotics more quickly, has been inoculated for every disease known to man-and some that aren’t-and his natural body temperature is several degrees higher than a normal human. He also has enhanced speed, called blurring, which allows him to move faster than the human eye can process, making him a literal blur, as well as enhanced strength. Max has been shown as having the ability to hold a full grown man upside down off a balcony several stories up without breaking a sweat or losing her grip. Alec, having more muscle mass and concentrated training, probably is stronger. All that extra strength allows him to jump higher, hit harder, and throw further than any normal human would.

As far as the kitty DNA is concerned, Alec has all the senses of a big cat. He has enhanced sight for seeing long distances and night vision, as well as a stronger than normal sense of smell and hearing. He has a better sense of balance, a natural grace, and enhanced flexibility. He lands on his feet-most of the time. He also has a taste of cat instincts, which can include sensitivity to the supernatural-there’s a reason cats were used as familiars for witches-but it’s nothing overtly informative. It’s mostly a feeling, like something’s rubbing against him the wrong way-he won’t know what it means. It also includes a strong kill instinct-cats are natural hunters and killers, and Manticore was especially careful to nurture that instinct in their soldiers.

He also purrs. It’s sort of adorable, in the way a giant tiger purring is adorable.

As for his soldierly skills, Alec’s been trained to be a killing machine since he was old enough to hold a weapon. He’s proficient in almost every weapon known to man, as well as multiple forms of hand-to-hand combat, and he could probably kill you with just his pinky. He was raised to be a field leader, so he’s a strategist, and trained in infiltration, retrieval and assassinations. He was also trained for deep cover, so he can fake accents and slips on another identity just as easily as he would a pair of jeans.

part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion? Yes, and he’s extremely susceptible. As in no mental resistance at all.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain. Yes. Alec has all the trauma as he’s one of the more extreme cases of abused kids-stockholm syndrome mixed with being raised by people who only saw him as a weapon and not a person, which therefore leads you to believe that you are not a person … blah blah blah. If you want a really good look at Alec’s issues, there’s a really long version HERE.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up? Yes.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours? Yes. Alec is a great big ball of emotion, but usually he’s pretty calm, so there isn’t a lot going on under the surface.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned? … Talk to me first. It depends on the situation. There is stuff locked in Alec’s brain from Psy-Ops that he doesn’t remember, and more to the point-it’s not entirely clear if he should. It might just cause problems.

part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos? He’s very pretty. But beyond that, he’s pretty Average Joe looking. He has a barcode tattoo on the back of his neck.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses? Alec is immune to most bioagents. He was built that way. Radiation and chemical agents also aren’t really issues. Telekinetic influence is definitely fair game, though.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability. His body makes an excess of stem cells that allows him to heal and repair more quickly. His body is also built to withstand an X5’s stamina and abilities, so he’s a little tougher than most.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly? I’m pro-injury, just talk it out with me. I like to know what I’m getting into before it happens.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry? Yes! Why not.

part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all? Yes, I’m not sure. Not human, but in a more neutral capacity. Characters with no supernatural abilities wouldn’t notice a thing.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses? Yes!
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)? Yes!
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event? A sense of superiority, an enjoyment of the kill, and a “want, take, have” kind of attitude.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot? Yes, but he would have no idea what to do with them, as he didn’t have the ability in the first place.

part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional. No.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances? Yes, always.
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced? Yes.
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)? No.
5. Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey? Nope.
