 name: Meghan
 age: 17
 location: Chicago, Illinois
 siblings: Evan (11)

hobbies ((besides dance)): shopping, reading, partying with friends, going to the beach to tan or exercise
name 3 interesting facts about yourself that DO NOT pertain to dance: 1) I haven’t eaten any fast food since April and I’m damn proud of myself. 2) I’m a huge Chicago Cubs fan. 3) I’ve met David Schwimmer.
favorite food? Chicken Pesto sandwiches from Corner Bakery
 favorite restaurant? Sanfrantellos

do you dance for your regular school?((college, high school, jr. high, etc.)): My high school didn’t have a dance team, but I did have dance solos in my school’s musicals.
if you could improve anything about yourself dance-wise, what would it be? I would love to have a better arabesque and better turn out.

 live dance performance: The Nutcracker
dance quote: To dance with your feet is one thing, to dance with the heart is another.
best dance advice you’ve ever been given: “Dance through the pain that feels good!” All the dancers know the feeling of a “good pain”, like when you feel the stretch or burn because then you know what you’re doing is correct and you’re body will remember it and continue to do it correctly if you keep working through the pain.
do you have a favorite dance website? please share the link! I always love looking through the dance company’s websites, especially ABT.

either or:
 ballet or lyrical? ballet
 tap or jazz? jazz
barre work or center work? barre work
 hip-hop or modern? hip hop
the second before you perform, or the second the music stops? The second before you perform because all the butterflies and anticiaption are brought to a high the minute you get on stage, and that is the BEST feeling.
group number or solo? A group number
right side or left side? ((some people prefer to do things on a particular side)) My right side for everything, definitely.

we're just curious! it's time to think!:
do you think dance is a sport?: Yes I believe dancing is a sport, because just like football or baseball, dancing involves practice, perfection, talent, energy, and time and may result in injuries and even cuts(like cuts from an audition).
what do you say to someone who looks at dancing as easy ((the “I could do that” attitude))? I usually kind of chuckle at them and think to myself....”If you only knew what a dancer actually goes through!” And I also laugh when they pretend to be a balerina and they do a turn with their hands in a horrible fifth position over their head. I hate when people do that impression!!!
what do you tell yourself to get over that “I can’t do this” hump? I get easily frustrated when I can’t grasp something or am unable to get it as good as I think I can do it. I usually will keep repeating whatever it is I need to do until I get it right, even if I do beat myself up over it sometimes.
why do you dance?: I dance for myself as a way to get in touch with the inner me during the day. I also dance for my mom because she passed on the love of dance to me.
what is your favorite part of dance?: When you can tell after a period of time how much you’ve improved because you’ve worked so hard, and this usually happens for me around show times, which are also my favorite things about dance. The time you spend with all your dance friends and how much it means to you is unexplainable because they become like sisters.
what is your least favorite part of dance?: The teahcer’s critiques. I totally appreciate them, but sometimes my teacher’s can be just downright mean and cruel.
brag a little. what are some of the strongest points of your dancing?: I am a very strong jumper and very good a pirouettes.
how did you start dancing?: I started dancing because my mother and aunt were dancers and they started me in on it.
how did you hear about im_fabulous? I saw a promotion for it in another livejournal commmunity.

I’m sorry I don’t have any pictures. I just bought a new labtop for college and I have no pictures on it at all....I’m still learning, but when I get it down pat I will post some!
