2232 - 2250: Percy Weasley is born. The third of what will eventually become seven, he is a quiet child who prefers the company of books to the more rambunctious activities of his siblings, and tries his best to regulate the chaos of his home - though usually, no one listens. He's also a precocious child, and develops an interest in politics and history early. He excels in school, and dreams of going into the government and helping to change the world.

2250 - 2254: He is accepted into the University at Cambridge in the Department of Politics and International Studies. Along with his interest in politics, Percy develops an interest in anthropological studies as well. In his second year, a professor asks if he's ever considered the Royal Space Academy. Percy replies in the negative. His professor tells him he should.

In the spring before his final year, Percy meets Oliver Wood, who is studying at another university to get his teaching degree. There is an instant, deep connection, and the boys begin a long distance relationship, hesitantly at first, but with increasing confidence as it becomes apparent that yes, this is a good thing.

Percy is accepted into the Royal Space Academy, and he and Oliver make plans to relocate to Scotland.

2254 - 2258: Percy finds what he's been missing all along was xenoanthropology, the study of alien cultures, and he is thriving. Oliver finds a job as a gym teacher at a nearby school and they settle into a happy sort of domesticity. In his later years at the Academy, though, Percy is required to spend more and more time at school, and his time with Oliver becomes less and less. They promise each other they'll make it up to each other soon, but ‘soon' always becomes ‘later.'

In June of 2258, after the Narada incident rocked Starfleet, Percy graduates from the Royal Space Academy as a lieutenant in communications: speciality in xenoanthropology with a focus on alien political systems. He eagerly awaits his assignment, though he knows it won't come for a bit. Later that month, Molly falls ill enough that she shouldn't be alone, and as Arthur is away on business, Percy has to return to England until Arthur comes back. He asks Oliver if he'd like to come, but Oliver says he's got too much to take care of in Scotland. Percy spends a week with his mother, and Arthur returns home a day earlier than expected.

On the transport home, Percy receives his assignment. He's been put on the Enterprise. Overjoyed, he stops in town before going home to pick out a ring, because you can't bring your boyfriend onboard a ship - but you can bring your husband.

When he comes home, he hears an odd noise, and, concerned, heads back to the bedroom … only to find Oliver mid-coitus with one of the female teachers from his school. Devastated, Percy storms out and, ignoring Oliver's protests, checks into a hotel for the night. He makes arrangements with Starfleet to go to San Francisco ahead of his assignment beginning, and leaves for America the next day.

He spends a lonely month in San Francisco, though he's forcing himself to look on the bright side. He returns to England to see his family one more time before going to space, two weeks before he's deployed. His mother says Oliver has been asking after him. Percy replies he doesn't care.

Three days before his deployment, he sells the engagement ring.

And so, onward and upward, he keeps his eyes focused on the sky, on his career - and not on his broken heart.
