Why music is amazing.

True story. I babysit for a family of 6 here in Michigan. I have as few as two and as many as four of them at a time. Today for an hour, I had the two little ones before Clayton came home from Kindergarden. Vivian, age 2, said to me.

"Misell, we dance?" I looked around for a CD, with no Avail. So i sadly said,

Well, of course I'm biased, but I completely agree! Music is one of the first things a school will cut, but it's been scientifically proven that things like music, and any type of art really, stimulates different parts of the brain that aren't used as often, and can actually make a person "smarter." And not to mention the way a song can bring very different people together. It's so important for children to be exposed to music, b/c if they aren't they are more likely to not appreciate it as an adult, and can even have an extremely hard time learning to sing later on in life (I'm not sure about musical instruments).

Ok, that's a shortened version of a music major's rant, lol :)
