\What time period would you most like to live in?/ I'd like to live in '60s, so I could dress in hippie clothes, listen to the Beatles and protest the war- but I do the same thing in this time, so why bother?
\If you were given an unlimited amount of money to spend on just one thing, what would you spend it on?/ I would buy and customize a house for my parents, because they pay for just about everything, so one day I'd like to be able to pay them back.
\Would you rather have more time or more money?/ More time, for I am sleep deprived.
\If you could meet any one person, living or dead, who would you meet?/ My Grandma Barbara. She died before I was born. My dad constantly compares her to me, so I'd like to meet her and talk to her about our family.
\If you could kill your worst enemy, would you do it?/ No. I have a guilty conscience. I can't even cheat on a test.
\If you could have any job in the world, what would you do?/ Jedi Knight. I'm not even kidding. Telekinesis + lightsaber + inner peace= instant cool
\Why do you want to join this community?/ I'm opinionated and like to discuss topical issues. Plus mynamesnotliza rocks. :->

Your part

Who should win the '04 election? John Kerry. I admire him because his religion (Catholicism) and his political views on abortion and gay rights do not conflict. He is a religious man but does not let it affect his focus on the world at large (unlike Bush, who lets his religion affect his views on gay marriage).

Sex Ed in the high school classroom; how much should they teach? Again, another Republican issue that has been made religious. They say that abstinence only is the only way that should be taught, and that gay students should be taught to not engage in intercourse at all. Withholding teens from sex will not stop kids from having sex; it will stop them from doing it safely.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I write (bad) fanfiction, short stories, scripts, etc. I also sing in many of my school's choirs and do theatre. I'm also President of the Gay-Straight Alliance. :->

If you could switch bodies with someone for a day, who would it be? Kirsten Dunst. Then I would proceed to make out with her/my boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.

The big question
I have gay and bisexual friends and family. Not that I love my straight friends and family less, but all of my friends are extremely important to me and I want them to be happy.

If I was asked if I considered myself "religious", I would reply no, because I look at the world in a more "spirtual" sense. There is a God, but people should worship freely without the boundaries that stupid mortals have implemented. I go to church, I teach Sunday School, I pray every night and thank God everyday for what I have.

BUT- I do not believe the Bible is inerrant, or containing no errors. The Bible (or the Old Testament, which is the Hebrew Torah) was written by men who wrote laws so that NO ONE could get away without breaking a law. Gay people are going to hell? This was 2000 years ago.

People quote Leviticus 18:22 ('Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.') when proving that homosexuality is wrong. But what about Leviticus 11:7 where it's against Jewish law to touch a pig? Or Exodus 21:7, where my father can sell me as a slave? It's hypocritical to call these laws outdated, yet continue to bring up Leviticus 18:22. Either make all of them relevant, or none of them.

Ugh... I've been dreading this part.

So emo. *Sigh* Judge me, please.
