You forgot: 'What do you have when you come to the conclusion that all this superstitious nonsense is useless and people should invest more into science?'
The universe is vast, there's millions of different religions to be found out there -- if this deity of yours had any power, wouldn't it make sure more than just one tiny planet worships it for more than a few millennia?
And everyone else is out of luck? That doesn't like a loving deity. And while my knowledge about human religions might not be the greatest, I heard this deity was supposed to be one.
Science, on the other hand, is always impartial. It neither loves nor hates nor anything else; it is simply true.
