Full disclosure, I think pumpkinqueen144 will be the only one reading this post in the near future given that everyone has migrated from LJ land. Nevertheless, Queenie, read your heart out! :P

My old LJ friends migrated to the almighty Facebook. I've been guilty of it as well; it's hard to keep up with blogs when there are 4230260286 other things to do these days. :(
And yeah, my school came to a standstill when my mom was asked to resign from her teaching job in November 2011 and has yet to find steady employment. In the US, your parents' incomes are used to determine how much financial aid you receive from colleges until you're 23 unless you get married or have a child, and they base your aid upon the income you & your parents receive the year prior. As a result, my student aid for fall 2012-spring 2013 would have been based upon my mom's teaching salary that she hasn't had because she's been unable to find steady employment since then, and therefore, I was set up to receive little help. Hopefully, I can get back on track this fall even if it's just taking one or two classes at a time until I have more money set aside. Such is life out here in the real world. :(
