It is wrong, and here where we live I vainly hope we are immune:

With small producers, and small farms; Farmer's markets are popular too. Most of the food you can see growing; the fish comes in to the wharf and is straight to the restaurant. No salmon farms locally. Thank goodness.
There is a movement for buying locally (or within a 100k's,) so knowing the people who produce it helps, several restaurants in Melbourne are part of the movement. But of course we are also flooded with fish from overseas which gets into the supermarkets, all we can hope is that food labelling is forced, and adhered to. Great entry.

And they have no idea the health risks any of this poses. I'm all for eating all-natural and farm grown food. It's something I look for and lay attention to. I sometimes feel like an old lady with how I wish we could go back to simpler times sometimes...
