Catching up...

Let’s see; what has been going on.

At work there is a push to roll out a massive number of pre-built VMware images. The requirement is to support the forty or so configurations the Suite QA Lead has picked from the nearly thirteen thousand different configurations we are suppose to support. What the powers that be don’t realize is we are planning to support those images in the first phase of project plus about 110 sub-configurations (configurations that are actually less that the full load of software the QA lead has selected by using VMware deltas).

The second phase will allow people to select the image they need from a website and it will either automatically download it for the user or generate a script for the user to run on his local machine that will bring the images down.

The third phase will allow the user to select the individual programs the user wants on the image, select the closest pre-built image, down load that image and then install the remaining software onto the image for the user. This last phase should give the QA Lab well over 13,000 configurations to choose from and enable the automation to set up a never ending runs of the automated tests on an enormous amount of different configurations.

Just good clean fun

1: Terrorism in the U.S.
2: A science fiction rescue story based loosely on the Alternity universe
3: Unauthorized Autobiography: A story written from a killer’s second personality
