This is pretty awesome. I remember listening to these guys before and not being nearly as impressed.

Songs are just like poems... they say the form is as important to the message as the words, and then with music, as anything else... you get this circle of interwoven ideas that rely on each other to really speak to the listener. Cops and Bikes is a good demonstration of that idea! It's tough to accomplish... it's like, you know, chicken or the egg kind of problem. You have to make everything work together at once. It's why DP is so cool because everything is so chaotic but unified; oxymoron. That being said... Cops on Bikes is much cooler than Coming Up, maybe I just don't get Coming Up.

I hope I don't come off as a big touting know it all... I just like good songs that make me feel that way :)

Also their influences made me squeal... Police, DP, Yes; Zeppelin, STEELY DAN. Watadream team.

Jesus. lol. I'm listening to Cops and Bikes again and this song is seriously brilliant. Way better than anything I've heard in the indie/progressive realm in a LONG time... really since DP I would say. Some real creativity here man.

WHICH brings me to something I often think about: It's silly. I don't think that's a coincidence towards it's awesomeness... I think when you are really enjoying a creation like that; when it sort of makes you laugh; that excites you and your own creativity. I always say to people that's why Tenacious D is so awesome and you don't even realize it... it's brilliant and sounds like it was easy because they were having so much fun with it.

this shit is sick. i keep coming back for more, i love both songs but i think you're right- meter changes aside, cops on bikes is probably better than comin up. i do love how comin' up moves though

i'm pretty mad cos some of the stuff me and the guys are coming up with is pretty similar- not as jazzy though, and the jazzyness is fuckin sweet.

i definitely hear DP influence in cops on bikes. How you gonna bust me in them little shorts?
