i will check it out. if i could throw one at you, i'd say check out Breaking Open the Head by Daniel Pinchbeck. that book blew my mind. it breaks down different cultures and spiritualities in regards to shamanism and the use of psychedelic drugs- and the guy can really write
my brother just got me a book of short stories by Haruki Murakami and he's a wonderful author. stories really stretch the bounds of abnormal lol. i dont think they are particularly like, groundbreaking works of art, but i always feel liek i had a great experience reading one of his stories. just like... mind candy.
respecting other ppl's journeys is cool. i feel like i get so anti-lazy (a philosophy that has been drilled into my head since the dawn of Alec) that i tend to dismiss other lifestyles too easily. there is a balance though; i do maintain that ppl i feel like are being lazy are probably well, being a little too lazy (in other words, not as "bad" as i think, because what's bad mean anyway? but it wouldn't hurt to have a little more drive for something bigger). i don't know what this is in context with, i'm just generalizing. maybe it's not even accurate it's such a generalization i dunno lol.
also if ur bored tanya does write in her lj too... just rambles like the rest of us but in interest of enlarging the lj community... her user name is the_unforeseen
also integrating tanya into the lives of my friends is of interest to me too :P
i totally thought we were friends, and that she had stopped posting, lol weird. what ever happened to bear's posts? and joe trani? i actually thought he might have DEfriended me!
is that a slick way of calling me lazy? lol i guess i can be considered lazy by some. but i think a majority of my lazing is time spent appreciating some form of art. now jim- he can definitely be a lazy dude. but he occasionally makes up for it with small bursts of productivity. personally i feel like i pull more than my weight around the house- not that it's a contest or anything. i guess i also have alot of guests mussin the place up
word up jason! i'm pretty unemployed at the moment so my schedule is relatively free haha. and i prooobably won't be goin to langerado this year so yea man, spring break sounds good. i've still never seen your penn state lodgings- and i can't remember if you've ever been thru the germantown house- we should make it happen
