my parents and i went shopping today and yesterday @ exton.

we were in boscovs and i just did a 360 and took in ALL the stuff. i've been thinking about my heroldine<3 [the 4yr old girl i sponsor in haiti] alot lately. what would she think if she was in my position at that moment? there were big fluffy beds with about 10 throw pillows and layers of ( Read more... )

i love you jac...and i think about how selfish i am sometimes too...i have soo much stuff that i think i cant live without, but in reality they wouldnt be missed if i didnt have them. americans are greedy...its our nature...the more we have the more we want, and americans keep having more and more...

i got a letter from my sponsered child today! it was adorable, and brought a tear to my eye...he sent me a picture too...hes soooo cute! and i betcha hes a million times less selfish than me, with a million times less unecessary stuff.

<3 when i get letters from heroldine i cry too, she says she loves me. and that just melts my heart and i just want to transport myself to haiti and hug her and TELL her i love her, face to face. :)

i think you're taking the wrong stance on this

sure sometimes we act selfish--but the fact that you sponsor another child gives you one up one those who dont. basically i think you're being a little too hard on yourself

instead of seeing possessions as a burden and a negative thing just thank God instead for blessing you so much. surely they may be material things and a little excessive but dont take his blessings for granted

i suppose its a double-edged sword

but i just thought you should look at the other side of the coin too
