Our Bran, the little black who is sniffing at the ground in this icon (because, you know, there might be food there) was a major scrounger due to past starvation. He ate everything he could get his jaws on and he was adept at climbing and opening things to get to it. Of course, not all of it was ever food...I had a nice leather collar and bracer set that he happily ate.

Anyway, yes, he happily ate avocados, of course, never because we gave them to him. Fortunately, he'd start from the outside in and we always managed to get the seed from him, as we both remembered hearing that the seed was toxic. He'd, of course, have eaten it. I asked our vet at the time and he seemed to feel that the fruit of the avocado was probably fine, but, yes, probably not the seed, but he didn't seem particularly concerned...there were much scarier things Bran would go after, after all.

I'd think that, in moderation, the fatty acids would be good for them, but yes, like us there could be too much of a good thing. But that's just my opinion.

I learned the hard way about mixing the ingredients gradually...

I don't know anything about avocados. I will say that Lupe is a very lucky dog to have a human that cares so much about her and feeds her good stuff.
