I hate stupid adults that need to grow the hell up
supportive cast:
My coworker = Rachel
My other coworker = Milcah
Rachel = Milcah's aunt
Milcah's parents = stupid people
okay.
So I'm supposed to go to Otakon with Milcah this weekend. I've had it up in the work schedule for Rachel to work for me this Thurs-Sat, for about 2-3 months. Everything was fine. Milcah's parents were all "we're going to Wisconsin and we're taking Rachel with us okay? We'll be back by Monday!" Okay. Then Milcah's mom decided they'd leave a day later than originally planned, and return Tuesday. ...okay... fine..
Milcah talked to her mom on Tuesday. She claimed Rachel wanted to stay an extra day, so they'd be home Wednesday.
Milcah's mom actually asked Milcah if she could work for Rachel on Thursday, just in case.
Milcah said no, she has stuff to do.
Her mom asked if I could work for Rachel.
WTF SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING FOR ME. NO.
........
Then they claim they'll leave Wednesday morning (after Milcah razzed on them for being stupid so far) and Rachel will be back Thursday morning. Fine, I can work Thurs am, I'll just finish packing and stuff after work.
Wednesday afternoon: 1:30 pm. They haven't. even. left. it's an 18-20 hour drive to get back here.
............Milcah is NOT happy.
Tonight! :D 8:30 pm! Rachel calls. Apparently, Milcah's parents DON'T WANT TO COME HOME and Rachel's stuck trying to find a flight home that she has no money for.
She MIGHT have found one that will get her here by 2pm. MIGHT. Which means of course I have to cover her shift. The only person who can work for Rachel is me, and me is Rachel. Nobody else is trained to work the front desk.
Milcah's parents owe her money for Otakon that they PROMISED they'd get to her before we left.
Milcah has animals at home that need tending to while we're gone.
Milcah's parents DON'T CARE that I'm stuck working for Rachel because IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT AND IT DOESN'T MATTER TO THEM

omg the last time they went on a trip, they took Milcah with them, stayed longer than they were supposed to, and Milcah had to either quit or be fired at her current job because she had no more sick/vacation days to take. She ended up quitting.
That is so freaking messed up.
It's called a damn work ethic. Get one. Damn. What the fuck.
