Soooo, those book comments I was talking about are coming, I just got sick for like a week and a half and it basically killed my brain for a while there, so now that I'm back up and running I'm finishing it up.

But I just have to say, totally late to the party, that I finally, finally got to see Wonder Woman today and oh my heart, I did not know ( Read more... )

I really enjoyed it too! It didn't sweep me away in a fannish-type way like Guardians did, but it was really a great time and a very well-done movie. I'm delighted that DC seems to have finally figured out how to make movies that are fun instead of dull and depressing.

Exactly! I didn't come away feeling a need to seek out fanfic (though... these things can change XD), but it was just so enjoyable and after DC's recent track record it was incredibly refreshing. I just adore Diana. :D

I neeeed to see this! Not sure if that will happen till it comes out on DVD though, due to the problematic nature of Taking A Baby To The Theater. XD But you are yet another person whose opinion I value who loved it, so this makes me very anticipatory! :D

It is SO fun! Honestly, it makes me all the more sad that I disliked the latest Superman so much because thiiiiis is what a movie about a hopeful, sincere, good superhero is supposed to be like. Diana = <3 (And speaking of babies, her reaction upon seeing one for the first time is adorable.)

Definitely worth seeing once the DVD's available!

I am doing much better now, thanks! It was just Highly Inconvenient, when I had so much to catch up on. :P

Like Sholio, I'm not going to be diving into writing fic but it was just darned good to see a DC movie that wasn't affected by Zack Snyder's nihilistic darkness. :P I really, really hope that Aquaman is done in the same vein.

EXACTLY this. I'm just at the point where... what even is the point of a superhero story if the only message you want to tell is that kind of hopeless darkness? It's just so refreshing to see a DC movie finally taking a different turn and I really hope it's a new trend. Given what I've seen about WW's box office success - especially as compared to some other recent DC offerings - one would certainly think they'd have to be nuts not to get the message. I reeeeeally hope that Aquaman is good, because I think Jason Mamoa has the potential to be so awesome and fun in that role ( ... )
