Compared to the other talks in this series, she didn't really say much beyond 'visit my website'.
And this is subject you can expand beyond hardcore porn. Media on all levels has a great influence on how people, particularly young people, think about sex.
I do suspect that in this woman's case there is some like attracts like going on. She enjoys hardcore porn therefore she's more likely to date guys who enjoy and emulate hardcore porn.
I remember back in highschool, a conversation popping up where it became clear that most of the kids assumed that after people had sex they went to sleep and woke up next to the other person...because that's what we saw on TV. It was a paradigm shift to learn this was not always so.
I could gripe on other things, but I'll leave it there.
Actually, when I took that class in human sexuality, we had a whole unit dedicated to the effects of pornography and pop-cultural ideas of love and sex. There are all kinds of intersting studies done on the subject.
Carlalute has a point, she could have said so much more than just, "Hey, this is a problem, check out my website." For a TED talk, it was underwhelming. But I agree that it's something we should all be talking about, and thinking about.
