Hey cmerun12!!!

Do you have any books on Temari?

If you do, would you mind if I borrowed one or two for a bit? (perhaps a month or two?)

I've never tried it. Thought it might be a fun thing to try when hanging out this weekend, but none of the local stores seem to have books in stock, and I don't think there's time to get one shipped in (unless I want to pay the world in shipping charges) Thought it didn't hurt to ask! (and also figured it might be nice to borrow a book and try it before doing the Huge Investment In STUFF that I tend to do when starting a new hobby)

Oh well.... I'll just weave! It's certainly a fun thing to do! (and finabair seems to enjoy watching me...)

Thanks anyway!

You are AWESOME!!!

Have asked musicquilts4me to suggest a "packing list" and I'd ask the same of you.

Balls?
What to use to prepare them?
Recomendations on threads?
Do I need special needles or other special supplies?

Any hints on packing appreciated!

I know I'm not on your way but I have 3 books on Temari plus a finished ball to see how it looks.

Sadly, you are quite out of my way for this trip, heading north through Rockford up to Madison. Have seen several finished balls, they are GORGEOUS!! Look forward to seeing yours when next I stop by!

But if cmerun12 is going to find some info for me to play with, could you, perhaps, comment here with a list of "stuff what I should pack" so that I have the stuff I need to be able to play?

Balls, of course, but recommendations on size/whatever appreciated.
Do I need anything special to "prepare" the balls?
I assume I need assorted sizes/colors of thread
Do I need pins/needles/rulers/anything else?

Suggestions greatly appreciated!!!

Checked out the site that cmerun12 suggested. Can't add much more to that for supplies. Tho when I watched it being done a long time ago on tv, they didn't use yarn for the bottom layer just whatever sewing thread they had. Plus all the ones that I've seen have not used crochet cotton but sewing thread - granted it will take longer but looks so awesome.

Just remember wrap the ball with batting. Cover it with thread/yarn. Then take your strip of paper and measure using your glass headed pins. Then you can use your other thread and start (with a needle)
