I was poking around online whilst eating my soup today, hoping to find a diagram I once saw of a particular style of cardweaving loom. Didn't find what I was looking for, but I did find something ELSE wonderful.

Check Out These GORGEOUS PATTERNS!!!! I have GOT to keep learning about this craft!!!!!

Your focus for cardweaving is to recreate the pieces you need for your bunad, and I completely respect that. I don't have such an end-goal, I'm just wandering around this craft saying things like, "Oh! Shiny!!!" and following the sparkly things!

I think I may know where my camera is. It likely needs charging, but I think I know where the charger is, too. Please do keep poking.

*sigh*
Yeah, I am frustrated with myself because I want to make some of these gorgeous knotwork patterns and I am just not good enough to get it right yet.

Well....

What do you have going for our gathering in January? You have a coat that *has* to be finished, right? Think we'd have time to work on and play with this type of weaving, too? The key seems to be in the "charting" process. If it were charted in a way that I could understand I'm confident I *could* weave it. But I don't understand many of the charts I've seen, and I've No Clue how to create the necessary charts! I would really, REALLY like to be able to create designs like these, though!

Yeah, I would think that we'd have time to look into some weaving.

I have this pattern maker that I got online (very simple, I'll make you a disk) that makes the patterns very easy for me to understand.
